Looking at many other forums to find something about security measures of VPS VS Dedicated, I am starting this topic here to discuss your experience or thoughts regarding that. I haven't any experience with a dedicated host till now but eager to know about it because I have read that dedicated servers are better security wise. What will you say regarding that?

I think they are a little bit better in general, but security depends on far more than how many websites are hosted by a server. The main reason to go to a dedicated server is if you have a lot of data transfer.

If your websites are of business nature, then, security is very important. Dedicated servers will definitely provide your sites with a higher level of security, speed and uptime.

Dedicated Server web hosting is where you have a full server to host your website(s). This server is for your exclusive use and offers unmatched levels of disk space, bandwidth and resources for your websites.Well like gsmart said it is ideal for using dedicated ones for exceptionally busy websites, users requiring high volumes of email or just those that want the additional privacy and security that the exclusive use of a server offers. So the targeted site size is important in this matter

Confused with this because I had logged once in VPS's control panel and could see a restart the server/computer option. Don't we have a full access to a server in VPS hosting?

Not exactly sure what sever you logged into but it could be set up like vmware session.
With vmware they create many virtual computers on one set of physical hardware. Your are then allowed to restart particular session or computers with out physically restarting the hardware that all of the sessions run on.
Does that make sense?
Perhaps how your VPS account was set up.
