I have been working with a client to set up there site on a Yahoo server, things have been going pretty well. We are able to accomplish most of what they need but we ran into a few limitations

.htaccess file
This is a pretty big limitation because Yahoo does not allow you access to the .htaccess files. no custom 301 redirects, no super clean SEF urls with sh404SEF. This is a pretty big limitation.

mysql databases
Yahoo gave us mysql databases but you have to install phpmyadmin to access them. many of the other hosting companies already have phpmyadmin installed.

Email
This is one feature that yahoo should get right and they do sort of. It is very good because it is easy to access your website email through your yahoo webmail interface. It is not so good b/c it look like pop mail is the only other option. it also looks like it may be a little more difficult to set up email forwarders than with a typical cpanel setup.

As I keep working through the Yahoo Web Hosting control panel I will update this thread.

I would love to hear from others on what they think about running Joomla sites on Yahoo servers!

not having access to the .htaccess file is a pretty big drawback.

Yahoo will run Joomla websites but they have some pretty big limitations. It is my advice that if you can find a different hosting company than Yahoo! I would go with them.
