Regarding Cpanel, it is so simple, just backup and restore on the next server. It is simple only if your shifting will go smooth. What are the probably common errors or complications which someone can go through? In Between what is the procedure on servers other than Cpanel?

Thanks for the post about moving cpanel servers.

Another great option for moving servers regardless the control panels involved is Joomlapack.

This component is available for Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5.

To move servers you need both pieces of Joomlapack. 1. The component that is installed on your Joomla site. 2. the Kickstart script.

The component is straight forward, install it on your site, then back up your files and your database.

The Kickstart script along with the back files are uploaded to your new server. Follow the prompts through the Kickstart script and then you site appears on the new server.

This has worked very well for me. I think I have run into some permission errors on hsphere control panels.

Any other suggestions for moving servers?

Have you run into permission issues on hsphere servers?
