I have been with AN hosting for about a couple of weeks and everything has gone pretty well. the joomla install way easy, they run cpanel servers, so I was familiar with the set up.

One feature that AN hosting has is a firewall that blocks an IP if it creates to many connections. This is good if someone is attacking your site but bad if you are a web developer.

A couple of times I have blocked myself from my site. The site was up the entire time I just could not access it. The fix is pretty easy, just email techsupport with your IP address and the will remove it from the firewall deny list.

I will post more experiences and thoughts as time goes on!

i'm using www.matrixserver.us. Can't complain about them. Their services are quick and servers also. They use plesk 8.2 with application vault for hosting joomla and others. Great affiliate program and 10% discount and free domain when you sign up! I love it. Oh by the way affiliate pay 20%, nice...

Try them. www.matrixserver.us

Sounds good I will have to check them out.

One question:

How would you compare / contrast cPanel control panels and plesk control panels?

Which do you like better?

Thanks!

Plesk and cPanel are similar, but cPanel is more widely installed and the interface is generally preferred by users. That's my take on it anyway.

I use www.joomlawebhosting.ca in Canada who I find to be more helpful with Joomla related issues than other hosts I've had in the past ... and the shared servers are fast ... and have Fantastico so I can easily install Wordpress and a bunch of other open source stuff.
